Acquired in a state of dilapidation by Spink Partners, who undertook the design, landscape design and build to return the house to a trophy country estate. On completion, this Berkshire estate was the UK’s most expensive home.

The restoration approach was historically based and rigourous. The mansion was carefully restored and improved, whilst the semi-derelict Victorian grotto was replaced with a contemporary spa designed in a Peter Zumthor aesthetic and crafted from Swiss Vals stone.

The 250 acre estate is Grade II listed with a series of restored monuments and landscape features. Contemporary interventions were introduced by celebrated landscape architect Christoper Bradley-Hole.
